| May: travel partner for Europe wanted Yes, I know it's bit of a long shot and also short notice but I told him I will ask here: My vet, 50 year old Indian, wants to travel to Europe for two weeks in May and is looking for a male travel partner to share costs. He wants to book a round trip with a tour operator (I forgot the name, some Swiss company) and see Italy, France, Germany etc etc. So if someone is interested to go with him let me know! ![]()

| Hi Noodle, it is not really common to travel with strangers in Europe. Especially if you travel with a tour operator. I would say.. just give it a go and your friend will meet lauds of nice people. Especially if he is a man with a good sense of humor, and respecting the people around him. than it can't be a problem. Enjoy the difference and have fun.. With or without travel partner. greetings, The King |

| Hi King! Thanks for replying. His basic motive for looking for a travel partner is to split costs (hotel rooms mainly). It's of course a bit short notice .... Yes, he's a nice guy! |

It's of course a bit short notice .... << Yes, a good idea, as most tours are based on "double-occupancy" of hotel rooms and they charge extra for a single person. Your friend might also ask the tour operator if there are other single men who might want to room together -- or perhaps who have not yet done so because of the double-occupancy business. |

| hi noodle, This is like 10 years ago. My father did a similar tour with a company called cosmos. He went alone since this was at the end of his visit to a trade fair. He was paired by the tour company with another gentelman from USA who was travelling alone. He did not have to pay for the single occupancy surcharge. The Indian counterpart of COSMOS at that time was TCI. May be your vet can ask for something similar. My father made new friends and enjoyed the tour. Hope this is of help Mani |

| Thanks Mani! I told him today, he said he asked his tour operator already and they don't know of any possible partner. |

| I think organised tour will still be cheaper as difference in hotel room price for single and double occupancy will not be that great |
