Looking to travel to India in December
I'm trying to plan a 2-3 week trip in Late December-early January. Most likely over the holidays (because I'm a freelancer and this time of year is slow for me). I haven't nailed down exactly where I want to go but I'd definitely like to see Agra and New Dehli as well as one or two more cities. I was planning on traveling alone but if anyone out there is planning a similar trip that might intersect with mine it would be great to have a travel buddy for part of the trip. Especially if there's someone out there who's been to India and knows how to get around better than I do. I'm a photographer and I think I'll want to spend most of the trip exploring and photographing India, so I'm not really looking for someone to spend my whole trip with. However if there's someone who has similar travel plans it might be easier to travel to certain areas together or even just meet up for a night or two to have some Western contact.
I'm 24 male, and I live in New York. Contact me if interested, male or female, any age. Even better if you live near NYC so we could meet up beforehand. |

Welcome to IndiaMike.
If this doesn't work, you'll find it easy enough to meet other travellers in Delhi, and I'm sure you'll find someone going in the same direction. Have a great time!

Hey -- sounds a lot like my situation. I'm flying out to India Christmas eve from New York for a 3 week trip, and am also looking for a travel buddy (although probably for just the first week and a half).
I'm late 20s, female, Manhattan. Maybe we could compare schedules and hopefully something could work out? |

Hello
Hey guys...I am also planning to travel in North India during x-mas and New Year for a week or so...if any of you guys plan to be in the region do give me a shout.
I just got back from US. I lived in Washington DC for two years and had a great time in US and it would be nice to meet up with people from US. Anyways, if you guys need any advice or suggestions feel free to ask me. I have traveled quite a bit in India and hopefully I can give you some useful info. Have a good weekend. Harsha |

I'm also a Brooklynite photographer (female), early 30s, going to India for the first time in my life, for three weeks starting December 22. Planning to do the Delhi/Agra/Rajasthan circuit, and then to Varanasi before the trip's over. Am planning to rent a car and driver for the Rajasthan circuit Feel free to contact me.

I'm still not sure how to send a private message yet on this thing.
Anyway -- I'm heading to southern India first (Kerala) and then moving north-bound. I've got a wedding to attend, and then after, I think several of the wedding party is planning a trip throughout the northern highlights for just under 2 weeks. For the female photographer from Brooklyn -- would you be interested in checking out the south first? |

Sorry, NewYorker, I've already bought my tickets in and out of Delhi. But the South sounds great, and a hell of a lot easier to manage than the North...have a great time!

Hey New yorker...I completely agree with thatmia...south is an amazing place and very easy to handle compated to the north. The weather is also pleasant and you will have a great time. Let me know if you need any tips or advice about places to see in the South. I am from the south and travelled there quite a bit.
Hey Thatmia..your dates are pretty much coinciding with my travel plans..I want to go to Rajasthan and Agra too...so do keep me posted about your travel plans and maybe we can travel together or exachange notes or something. Spacerobot..how about you...keep us updated about your plans too..I think you will also be in Delhi around the same time as thatmia... |

Hey all,
I'll be in the Delhi/Agra area around the same time as many of you, from December 22nd to January 15th. I'll be staying with a family studying Indian classical music for most of that time, but I'm planning on spending a few days in Delhi either on arrival or before I head back. Male, early 20s, musician/arts type. Feel free to shoot me an email, iag209 at nyu dot edu Mod Note: sweetnighter - I've changed your email into a form that won't invite spam advertising. Mod Note: I have merged your two posts, spacerobot. I have also deleted the 2nd email because it is in a form which will invite spam advertising to your email account. The email form in your reply to New Yorker, in this post above is fine. |
