Leh in September end - October beginning by Motorbike

I am planning a bike trip (My first ever) to Laddakh at the end of September. I plan on leaving on the 21st Sep and be back by 6th October.
I plan to take the manila route both ways.(As of now)
I started preparations sometime back I guess should hold me in good stead I guess.
I have recently joined this forum and I am looking for partners and advice for the trip as I understand the time I have chosen would does not permit a smooth sailing.
Although I am hoping weather gods stay calm.

I see there are a couple of people leaving around the same time give or take a few days. If there is anyone leaving delhi on or around 21st-22nd Sep I would like to know.

Anurag, your so called 'preparations' seem woefully inadequate to me!
You've chosen the wrong time of year to do it by mobike!
Kindly revise your plans.
And, to begin with, you'd be better off trying to do Leh from closer to home, like MANALI, LOL!! Manila is a bit FAR!!

@other travellers:For those who are planning travel to leh during the same time, I am still looking for travel partners during the said time. I might find some enroute but that would be a happy co-incidence.

Some missing details:
I have a thunderbird, I plan to leave by 21st or 22nd from Delhi make a short stopover in Chandigarh and then move to Manali the next day.
I can be joined / can join people who r reaching Manali on 24-25th sep.
Do let me know if anyone is interested.

Some details about me: A first time traveller, have never before ridden on mountaineous terrain. Would appreciate genuine advice, I still have time before I leave so any last minute things would be handy.

I am going to leave delhi on 19th sep. Maybe we can club together at leh.

Believe me, it is not wrong time. It just depend upon the whether and that is not in anybody's control.

First time biker:- that's not a problem. But you have never visited hilly areas that can be a problem. But believe in yourself, you can do it.

So if possible, can you leave 1-2 days earlier than what you have planned. I have planned to return back from srinagar. as you also have many days we can fix up everthing.

hey guys.. good luck for your trip. I just did leh this july and it was once in a lifetime experience.. just got beautiful and more beautiful around!

please do note that the rothang pass is closed on all Tuesdays from manali.. latest news read somewhere.

and this time, there are lot of ice melting and you would stumble into lot of water crossings.. be prepared for that and leave early in the morning for long rides!

Yeah but it will be closed 9AM to 6PM only!
Start at 0500 hrs from Manali and you're through easily, even after a breakfast stop at Kothi or Marhi!
