Leaving for Delhi in less than 24 hours / Rajasthan for 9 days

Hi,
I booked a last minute trip essentially to India, never been... but working my job in San Francisco for the past 1.5 years without a real vacation sparked the idea to go somewhere I have never been and know would be a shock to the system and adventurous.

I have a friend from college who lives in Delhi and will maybe take a side trip with me when he can get away from work, but other than that, i'm on my own. would love to link up with somebody cool who is looking for a shared experience and has some travel insight.

Welcome to Delhi. Since you have a friend in Delhi you will have an easy time. Delhi has a vibrant meet up scene where members meet on a regular basis. By joining a meet up you will acquire a few more local friends and much more insight in to the life in Delhi. Almost all of them are foodies as well so you will be led to the wonderworld of Delhi food.
Making Delhi your base you can forray in to many interesting places.

will be in Delhi the 2nd of september, last time was more than 10yrs ago and even then didn't manage to see alot besides the East West Medical Center where i spent my last week. i'm still not sure where to stay: Paharanganj or Connaught Place. can anyone tell me PLZ what i shouldn't miss in Delhi if I could give a week's time. interests in indian art, musea etc.. but also in classical indian music

The New Delhi tourist office is in CP, on Janpath, about 50 meters from the Air India office (Scindia House). They have maps!

I believe there's some sort of magazine, similar to Time Out, that can tell you about events in town.

The venue keeps changing , is decided on the thread itself well in advance..best bet would be to keep checking that thread...
