ladakh / leh !! anyone ?? june-july by road ??

hi everyone !!
i was thinking about going for a good get-away break to ladakh-leh in the summers after giving me semester exams . planning to travel between roughly 9th june to 18th july ... anyone interested ?? i am a 20 year old male (from New Delhi) looking for adventurous travel companions with a zest for traveling ... it doesnt matter how old or young you are or male/female ...
was thinking about trekking and sight-seeing , camping out , rafting , cycling ,meeting people etc. .. i want to travel for about 10-20 days ... on a budget ... and have no fixed schedule but can only travel between 9th june to 18th july as that is the duration of my summer break from colege ....
looking forward to a few replies
cheers !!!

Hi,

I am planning a trip somewhere in mid July. I can prepone it. I am planning a 2 week long one from Delhi - Delhi round trip.

I am from chennai (M-26) with zest of travel and intrested in trekking (mainly in snow). I am also intrested in lakes, monastries and other stuff. If time is not the barrier we can have a blast in covering all the above.

Do reply to this so that we can take this forward.

On day 5 you stay for the night in Hunder and on day 6 you start from tangste......?
Is there a way to go directly from nubra valley to tangste? I thought the only route to nubra valley was through khardungla.

Any snow up there???

hi there,
me with a couple of friends plannin somthing similar around the first week of september.
Can anyone tell me are we guys likly to see any snow on our way to Leh from manali? we plan to do this strech by road in a jeep.

Can we do river rafting in Indus during that time, if yes then how much will we end up spending rafting for a day (3 to 4 hours)

1.In august or september.... I dont think you will get any snow on the way.

2. rafting costs (3 hrs rafting... overall half day program) about 800 to 900 rupees per head. we did this last year from phey to nimo. excellent arrangements.... look into the link below.

thanks a ton nayan.
that site was helpful.
I have been looking at alot of options for jeep safaris, but not sure if we should go in for package tour or sweat it out by doing it ourself. I know doing it ourself sounds more adventures but i am not sure... it seems to be a lot more expensive to be a part of organised tours. but again on the flip side they offer alot in about 10 days.
Please advise!!!
