India from 1st March for 9 weeks
Hi everyone
I am arriving in Dehli on 1st March and was planning to head to Agra a few days later and probably stay overnight. Anyone else got similar plans? Feeling a little nervous After that I was planning to travel around some of Rajasthan, Amritsar and then into Himachal Pradesh. Looking for a scenic and relaxing time. Maybe also go onto Rishikesh to do some yoga or meditation then up to Kashmir to visit friends. Anyone out there at the same time who would like to meet up Thanks Sarah

I'm just over in Jaipur. I'm working at an orphanage there, traveling on weekends. I've already done the Agra thing sorry. But...Any interest in a camel ride in the Thar Desert? Or maybe to Pushkar for the sin-purifying lake? Or possibly (if my money holds up) Daramsala with it's Tibetan refugees? At some point I'm going but as of yet it looks like I have to pay for my company (people I work with can't afford to go)... So, if you're interested let me know. -Riah

Hi Riah
Thanks for the reply. I would be interested in the work you are doing at the orphanage if you can give me any more details, and I am definately planning to head up to Daramsala. I had also hoped to maybe do some work with the Tibetan refugees... Looks like we are on the same wavelength Not sure I fancy the camel ride though - maybe just for a few hours... Pushkar is also on my list. I will know more about dates and things in the next few weeks when I actually get there! Anyway hope we can meet up - keep in touch Sarah |

Hello...
I'm going to be in Delhi in early March and from the photos of a typical street it looks a bit overwhelming! Would rather meet up with a M or F. Please get back and let me know where you'll be and if we can meet up.
Cheers. |

Ok maybe this should be a new thread but...
I've only booked something for Mumbai - where I'm landing. I was really expecting to just wing the rest. I've got about a week eleft before I leave which gives me some time to book for other locations (if thats what we shoudl do) but I'd need to know ASAP - lol. Dreamer I'm guessing that you're landing in Delhi from home?

Will only be happy when I have booked and been collected by taxi and arrived safely in a clean friendly hotel ! (without any hassle on the way...) mind you would that be India then? |

one room for 200rps, and two tropical diseases for free.....no thanks
us metrosexual males need a mirror to do our hair as well ..... (although I am going to shave mine before I go....i dont fancy any lodgers in my hair over the trip) my cousin booked all my train/plane and accommod (except agra) so I cant take any credit or abuse for any good or bad hotels etc...except when we are on safari at corbett.... we have jungle lodges there with god only knows what flatmates of the eight legged, reptile, and winged variety.... i think a nice kulfi parlour for the meetup...cant go wrong with ice cream and conversation |

I am arriving on 2nd and I think HeyJesss is too. Have seem Delhi before so don't want to spend too long there but could probably hang on til the 5th. If not maybe we could all meet in Agra on 6th? Any thoughts? Everyone welcome My next stops are Jaipur, Pushkar, Udaipur and the rest of Rajasthan - though ask me tomorrow and it will probably have changed! S |

Hi there
I think there will be a few of us in Dehli heading to Agra so no problem if you want to tag along rather than going alone. No fixed plans yet so watch this space..... P.S. anyone know how many days in advance it is advisable to book tickets on the Shatabdi Express from Delhi to Agra at this time of year? Thanks in advance for your help Sarah |
