And preferably without an excess of capital letters: they take that into account...

DUNCAN (Sorry, I couldn't resist capitalizing you): What is your proposed itinerary? Does it include Arunachal Pradesh? We are a couple and we hope to go there but we are neither in India (yet) nor in possession of the R.A.P. Have you tried your luck to obtain a permit during your stay in Kolkata? What did they say? That you need to be four people? Please reply quickly because we will be leaving soon for Kolkata (in 3 days time) and I am doing last-minute changes to our itinerary because of the bandh in the Darjeeling hills. If the "situation" with the strike is resolved, then we would no longer be interested in A. Pradesh because we will be able to go as planned to Sikkim. Anyhow, I am very interested in your experience with bureaucracy for future reference! Thanks in advance. And Good Luck!

Probably not much use to you...but I'll be heading there in mid-April with another traveller, and looking for permit partners too...if you or other readers are around and interested..
