Full India Road Trip 2013 - Looking for fellow Travellers

Hi all,

I have always dreamt of going across india on a bike or car and see the natural beauty and the scenic landscapes. But one or other things kept coming up and I could never fulfill this dream.

Fortunately, I have now quit my job and working online as an online marketer and could finally find some free time to put into use. So, I am now planning to roam across India in my car, starting around March 2013 and hoping that the trip may last for a couple of months.

So, if anyone is interested in joining me, please let me know and we can plan out the itinerary.

Trip Schedule: To Start Around March 2013 ( Plenty of time to think and plan )
Trip Itinerary: Not finalized yet but will include most of the Tourist places in India.
Mode of Travel: By Road ( Car )

About me: I am 26, male staying in Bangalore right now.

Two months is a lot of time. But sounds interesting , what are the places on your mind ?

I know 2 months is a lot of time but I am open to all suggestions as this will be my first time. I have been to many places but never traveled the whole of india by road in one go

Starting from Bangalore, I want to drive around the country visiting maximum number of places that falls on the way, specially Kerala, west coast regions, rajasthan, jammu and kashmir, etc.

you must read this booked called "Horn OK Please" by Karthik Iyenger who also did a road trip in his car with 2 other friends starting from Bangalore...

While I can't do 2 months but I would love to join for some part of the journey...let me know

This is a coincidence....'cause me and a friend of mine were planning to exactly the same thing...although not for 2 months - more like 15 days. I am in Kerala - and maybe we could join up for part of the trip, if not the whole thing. Like you, we haven't firmed up anything except that maybe end feb - march '13 might be the dates.
I have done a significant amount of travel by road in India - but the way things are in this country, I doubt if any amount of experience will ever help. But then again, that's also the beauty....:-)
Would appreciate it if you would keep us posted of your plans...:-)

Hey !! Its great because I am also a biker though you would love to move by Car.

If you are having any route-plan for this trip then you can share with me then I will guide you. And if you or anyone is interested to join with me for a road trip to Ladakh in coming May, 2013 then I would love to be a biker with all of you.

Interesting idea... 2 months on the road. But don't think the office goers will get that kind of leave.

First make a rough itinerary, select the places you want to cover.
Calculate the approx cost of fuel.
By the way, which car you are planning to drive? How's the condition of the car?

Try to have at least 4 people for the journey to share cost as well as experience, preferably people who can drive and handle the technical aspect of the car to some extent too.

@ ThisIsIt : That will be awesome.. we can surely make some part of the trip together. I will draft a rough route + destinations and post soon so that we can discuss and make necessary changes.

@ Prosanta Das : Bike trip to Ladakh in May sounds very exciting. I will make up the rough plan and lets see if we can meet up

@ highhope : Yes, I will post the rough itinerary in a while so that everyone can make useful recommendations. Regarding the vehicle, I have a Fiat Punto in excellent condition as it has run just about some 15k.
