Females travelling to India in 2011-- Post here!

Hi, I'll be in India from August 14 - August 24. I'm thinking of going to Calcutta, Darjeeling and Varanasi, but would also be up for other places like Bangalore, Mumbai, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Shimla etc. Let me know if you'd be interested in going to any of these places.

I will be flying to Delhi around the 13th July and flying straight to leh and working my way back down by mid august. I am 29 and travelling alone.

Is anyone doing something similar. I am British but o Indian ethnicity and speak a little hindi etc.

We would like to hire a car with driver and split the costs between one or two more people. It will be cheap, more flexible, and less hassle.

Im new to the site and I've just decided on travelling to Southern Asia for three months starting in October. I am hoping to see India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

I am 27 from Canada! I love meditation, yoga and trekking. I am looking for females with common interests to travel with. I will be budget travelling and hope to find someone who isnt afraid to rough it. Someone who is not into the party scene and doesnt smoke or do drugs. I consider myself conservative with a good sense of humor, I love adventure and learning about different cultures. This is my first travel abroad and I just want to be safe and enjoy the journey!

I will be in Delhi on the 28th of July and am looking to spend about 10 days exploring either Rajasthan, Gujarat, or Maharashtra, perhaps a day in Agra. Not sure yet what i will do, but I have to structure a bit as my flight is out of Delhi back to the States on the 9th of August. I have been traveling India since March.

Hi! I'm a 25 year old female from the US. I'm currently in India working until the end of November. I'm planning to travel through South India the first 2.5 weeks of December. I don't have a set itinerary but was thinking of Hampi, Mysore, maybe Wayanad and a national park (Bandipur or Mudumalai) or Munnar and Periyar, and down to do the backwaters in Alleppey and stay to see Kochi, Varkala, or wherever I find and like! I don't want to stay in expensive hotels, but I also want to feel safe where I stay - I was thinking of home stays where they're available. I'm easygoing, my itinerary isn't set so if there are other travelers who are thinking of a similar trip but have places they definitely want to see, I'm happy to add in and/or take out locations. I am 2 year old British student 2nd gen East African.

THis is my third trip to india and second to nepal. I speak hindi at an intermediate level (I did it at university). I dont drink, occasionally smoke usually hookah/shisha and I am not a party person infact iI cant remember lst time I went to a club in the UK!. I am sufi muslim (feel freee to deduce anything you want from that

Ideally my travel buddy would have to easy going but not the gullible sort, spiritual (optional otherwise non-judgemental type)

October to december I am going an internship with Microfinance organisation.

December travel to delhi, Uttrakand, Himachal pradesh and if weather allows Leh

January travel south to mumbai, goa (optional), ooty and Kerala

All this is subject to negotiation so dont sssume my plans are concrete

Ahh I have been able to finally delay my internship for a month so I will be free to travel octobe I want to cover northern India na d january hopefully Southern India
