| ADVENTURENORTH | Hi Dave! Because of some urgent work we won't be able to make it in the month of june ,may be we will plan for the first week of jul. Costwise it would come up somewhat around Rs. 10,000 indian. As we assume when we go for holidays we look for comfort level also for relaxation, if facilities & services we can buy for us then why shouldn't we grab it. |

| http://vijh.blogspot.com | Itinerary Here is a detailed itinerary of my trip. Itinerary for Baralcha La Trek : 3rd to 17th July, 07 · Leave Bombay by 2926 Paschim Express on the 3rd of July · Reach Chandigarh on the 4th evening. Go to my cousin's place. Freshen up and catch an overnight luxury bus to Manali (around 12 hrs journey) · Reach Manali on the 5th morning. Check into a lodge and spend day relaxing and exploring Manali (some acclimatization too). 6 th is a free day for relaxation and equipment hiring. · 7th morning leave Manali towards Kunzum La ( Batal). This can be done via road by jeep or by an overnight trek via the captivating Hampta Pass. This will be decided there. · Considering the later option, reach Hampta pass base on 7 th evening. Camp there and rest. (Acclimatize) · 8th Morning, trek over the Hampta pass and reach a small road side hamlet called Chhatru. Take a jeep from there and reach Kunzum La (Batal). Camp overnight or stay at a Dhaba. · 9th morning, trek to Chandertal from Kunzum La; which is a beautiful high altitude lake and a pasture for grazing. Explore the area during the day, and rest there overnight. Important for acclimatization as it is at 14000 odd feet. · One of our party members will return to Manali from here and then to back to Bombay due to time constraints. The remaining start the 10th morning going towards Tokpoyongma (4320m). This is a 7 hour trek. Reach Tokpovongma in during early evening, explore area and rest. · 11th morning proceed to Tokpogongma (4640m) which is a five hour trek. This also involves crossing two rivers. Camp for the night. · 12th morning, trek to Baralacha La (4900 m) which is a six hour trek. Just before reaching Baralacha, we will need to cross another mountain stream. We can explore the region during the day and visit Suraj Tal (which is another high altitude fresh water lake) and witness its sharp contrast as against Chandra Tal. Camp at Baralacha La over night and rest. One can witness the onset of the Lahaul and Spiti regions from here, · 13th Morning leave for Manali by road (175 kms). Reach there early evening check into a lodge and rest. · 14th-15th Explore Manali, and neighbouring areas of interest. · 15th evening leave for Chandigarh by luxury bus, reach Chandigarh on 16th morning. Stay at Chandigarh for one day. Catch respective trains on 17th. try n fix up similar dates as my schedule is fixed....lemme knw abt ne development. as ever aviram |

| Manali to Chhatru via Hampta Pass is a four day trek... if you are die hard trekkers, its still three days. You have scheduled only two days. You will have to go by road to Batal... some 4 hours from manali by bus. . .

| ADVENTURENORTH | thanks avid trekker! He is right i think you need to replan the things & second thing you r looking for trekking by walking for 7 daysin your 14 days tour & looking to complete only lahaul & not visiting any place in spiti, that's really surprising i like snow & trekking but i like visiting natural beauty green mountains, barren mountains & special colour rocks just like a painted pictures in reality. |
