| Lost in Space | Delhi to Ladakh and Back I am leaving Delhi on June 15 riding up to Ladakh on my bio~diesel hopefully running on mustard seed oil. I have space on the back for a lady travelling light and we shall be travelling with a whole bunch of other bullet riders. We shall be stopping for a few days in Manali, then a few more below Rhotang where there will be campsite parties; from there into Ladakh and beyond. Riders will come and go so the scene will constantly be changing as the general programme is to continue on to Kashmir and then back to Delhi for many after a couple of months. I am heading back in early to mid July. This is an annual ride that is highly organised and bikers come from all over the world to join in. There maybe other rides available for guys and gals on various stages depending on the bikers at the time. If any ladies would like a ride from Delhi then PM me and we can discuss the whole thing. |

| Lost in Space | Hoping to be ready to leave on June 15, just sent the bike off to be built and found that my engine is now a 750cc diesel, thought that it was going to be a 580cc so I am impressed. So the frame has to be all painted, still some chrome work to be done and the seat customised for comfort. I have a nice big back rest which makes it a nice lay back and enjoy ride and the beauty of the diesel is that it just keeps on moving though somewhat noisy unfortunately; something to work on in the future. Also having a second bike rebuilt, a thunderbird, may not be the best for the rugged bits but a fun bike and as a back up in case the bio~diesel has problems before leaving. Haven't had any enquiries about sharing the ride so don't be shy and maybe if you can't PM, post here or try skype or aim/aol/ichat or sumit |

| Lost in Space | Hmmm, its all turning a little crazy as the assembly of the bike has hit a glitch and we could be looking at a month before it is now ready for the road but it will get on the road. Also I find that I need a little operation which should happen about the 16th and lay me up for about 5 days, 'piles' a nasty blighter popped up and I aint doin no long ride with that extra passenger. So if I get an offer of a co-pilot once things are ready then I will take to the mountains, not keen on the trip alone as I find it safer with a passenger, especially a lady as I don't want a lady injured from my bike and if I am on my own I don't give a rats arse and push the limits. This means for my own safety I need a lady on board. |

| Lost in Space | I have a back up bike that is being assembled at present and it appears that medication has settled down the piles so I have a good chance of getting away. The bio-diesel is being assembled also but it will be pulled apart a few times before it is ready to hit the road so that is looking like 3 weeks away. With the rains arriving and the bum feeling better I am keen to get moving but a 350 Thunderbird is not my ideal choice, a nice zappy bike but.... I will change the bars to straight ones I think to make it easier to get up and on to the steering, I am also chopping the tank and changing it to a 21Ltr to give me better distance plus a few electrical modifications to brighten up the world. I will stop off at Shimla for a day or so to do some biz and then go toward Rampur on Highway 22, turn off after Kingal ~ Ani ~ Banjar out on Highway 21 close to Kullu, that will be a nice ride and hopefully no slips to surprise me. Still no passenger which is a shame as it is potential just a ride travelling on your own, some things just have to be shared. Hope that I don't end up doing the whole ride on my own, should catch up to the others and there are more leaving about the same time as me so we shall see how it works out. |

| Lost in Space | Well this saga ain't panning out. Went to collect my custom tank and tool box covers from the denter only to find nothing had been done for the past month, took them off to a reputable denter but they wont be rebuilt until July 1st so the diesel will not be ready to hit the road until I return. The engine has to have a few custom things done to it still for what I am wanting including a max out on the chromimg, so all in all not a go for this trip. My backup Thunderbird is now looking more like a touring trail bike with large 21 ltr tank and square bars, and chunky tires, really bright halogen head and side spots. So I think this one is a goer and will be much easier and I wont mind if it gets a little dented. Problem is that I have been crook lately and ended up with a temp of 102.5, had no energy for days and don't have the strength to find my winter clothes at present. Feeling better today but have a head cold so hopefully by the 25th I will be okay to leave. I am heading for Shimla, staying the night and then riding over from there directly into Kulla and heading to the Shambhala Charitable Hospital in Village Ghurhdhor for a few days before doing the climb, so by then hopefully Delhi cabin fever and this cold will have been blown out my rear end and all shall be well. Somewhere I will catch up with the other motley crew which has as I understand it had their share of break downs and prangs along the way, good thing about having a mechanic on the trip. |

| Lost in Space | Well I have canned the trip, the bike is ready and fare racing to go, seems stronger than when I road it to Shimla, great those maxed out services. My health just gets more weird every few days, started eating again gently have not eaten well for about 2 weeks, had such splatters yesterday, don't cough sh....t, my guts felt like it was boiling with gas. So as I am feeling at times as weak as a wet paper bag and need to be as strong as a Totara for this trip, common sense prevails and when my wife gets back from NZ she will pack me off to hospital for a work over. Shall wait till she comes as I have no carer and she is a nurse used to being a carer in a few Indian hosp for some of our friends. Well what man proposes - God disposes |

| Lost in Space | Thanks mridula, the shame is when I ride the bike at present it really feels like 350cc trail bike and just bites in and flies, so flexible. Hell I miss good size trail bikes. |
