Delhi - Rajastan June 18-25
Anyone out there who will be in Delhi at the same time and seeking for traveling partner for the golden triangle?
If not can anyone provide information about local tour guides or round trips? It'll be my first stay in India and need other persons to share experiences with. Thanx, Jasmin |

whether you get a travel partner or not, do organise the following things:
1. A refrigerated van for traveling 2. Load half of the van with water 3. Have a doctor travel with you |

hi jasmin
AVOID RAJASTHAN IN JUNE normal day time temperature is between 40-46degrees. u will face dehydration, sun-burning,heat-stroke. dont even think about going there. instead you have two options: 1)head south - cover mumbai-goa-karnataka-kerala backwater 2)head north. cover shimla-manali-leh 3)head north into uttranchal all the best |

We will also be around Delhi in June, will any travel be difficult in the heat. We are hoping to do the hills then Golden Triangle, but I am unsure as to whether the monsoons are worse early or late June. Do the monsoons not affect the south as much i.e. Kerala or Goa would we be better going South, dont mind the rains, and we are quite used to tropical weather, but not sure about the baking heat if you cant get out of it!Any info gratefully recv'd |

Namaste India tours have a pretty good record and they can I'm sure do you a golden triangle tour!
http://www.namasteindiatours.com/ Many people have travelled Rajasthan in June/July/August and lived to tell the tale! It's not the ideal time to be traveling but it can be done. I would suggest an AC room as fans only really blow the hot around when the mercury hit 37C and above! With your AC room as sanctuary it's then a case of pacing yourself and starting as early as possible. The coolest part of the day would be early morning, so visits to temples monuments etc are best done in the morning. Don't go at it too hard, take plenty rests and chai stops, drink plenty water in the heat around about 3-4 litres a day is a must! From 12 noon until around 4pm it's probably better to stay in your room Listen to what your body is telling you and react appropiately and you should be able to enjoy your time in India despite the heat! |
