Cycling Partners (Pokhara-Chennai)

I am planning to start cycling from Pokhara along the Mahendra Highway in December 2003. If I make it to Delhi I intend to carry on anticlockwise, around the coast, until Chennai. It's a big cycle and I'm looking for people with a sufficient lack of sense to join me on the way. The route isn't set in stone yet so if anybody is tempted to risk life and limb on a clueless cycle round India for any length of time then I'd be interested in talking to you.

Hi,
Well, I'll be cycling from Delhi down, from the Narmada valley west and then down the coast towards Goa, crossing then to Chennai via Bangalore. I'll be starting December 11th till February 1st.
Unsealed roads are a bit too much for me I think. I was in India before but it will be my first long distance cycling experience in India.
Take care
JP

That sounds incredible. Ar you leaving Nepal via Mahendranagar? Love to do that ride with you but I am currently Jobafied.

All the best.

Wink

That's the plan.

JPJ - good luck with your cycle. You're leaving to early for me.

Jackthemack - that could be rectified

I'll be likely to be in the Kerala region around March/April. I had intended to go round the coast to avoid the mountains but I'll bear in mind your offer. Would you be available later in the year?

If you're passing through Bangalore, I should be available any time..

but since you're avoiding the ghats and going on the shoreline.. thats pretty far... cant get such long leaves from office. ANd not sure if I would be able to do such long rides too.. give a shout when you are closest to Bangalore anyways!
