Climbing partners and locations!
Hi,
I'll be visiting India in December and January and am hoping to hook up with climbing partners. Also looking for info on good places to climb, especially trad or sport. I'm bringing my own gear and have made arrangements with a couple of climbers, but more is always nice. Need more route information also. Please respond if interested. Cheers, Dan |

Which places in India do you plan to visit? You have rock climbing areas of varying degrees of difficulty near New Delhi, Mt. Abu(Rajasthan), Pawagadh(Gujarat), Pachmarhi(MP), Mumbai, Bangalore, Hampi, besides others. Plenty more in Himachal and Uttaranchal.

hi praks,
i plan to visit karnataka and have heard about the climbing in hampi and badami. i've also heard about some trad and big wall stuff around mumbai - the sahayadris area. i plan to check these out. is it possible to do trad or sport climbing in himichal pradesh or uttaranchal in december/january, or is it too cold? if you're interested in climbing around that time, please let me know. best regards, dan |

climbing in dec/jan
Hey. I'm gonna be around there from about the 16th of dec or so til about Jan 15. I was gonna boulder mostly, but I'm bringing my trad gear. Be great to hook up. Looks like real adventure climbing. Trad scene's not too developed yet.
Let me know! Mike (from BC) |

Badami
I can't wait to get there myself
Jan 5th, landing, so might be able to climb the week after. Jan 12-13th. My minimalist rack will be with me on the plane, rest of the rack (adequate to tackle big walls on the ship. (I am coming to Bangalore for work![]() Dan, did you get a chance to check out Badami, yet? All the horizontal cracks are making my tricams drool ![]() |

Mumbai climbing
Check out Bhramanti or Girivihar in Mumbai. Plenty of climbers from there who can help you out.
just google up the words by themselves or with climbing, mumbai, etc in tandem. Also a climbing wall in East Goregaon. About INR 20 per visit or so. Climbs rated between 5.6 to 5.9 on the wall. Good luck. |

Hooked up with the guys at the wall in Goregoan, but couldn't make the trip they had planned due to family obligations. Maybe next trip. N |
