Anyone travelling around by car now (anywhere in India)?

Hey all,

I'm currently in Delhi, have been here for the last month, and I'm planning to leave after Diwali... but I'm still not sure where I'll go. If anyone is exploring anywhere in India now by car, and could use an extra person to help share petrol costs or whatever, I'd probbaly be glad to travel this way instead of by train/bus, regardless of where you are travelling. Let me know if you've got a spot open in your car! (Or if you want to do a spontaneous roadtrip now...

hello aag
not possible to PM you till you write atleast 10 post

i plan to be in delhi on 27th , then proceed to rishikesh
then travel in the himalayas on rishikesh badrinath route visiting panch badri temples and finally stay in badrinath
later i plan to come down from badrinath and stay in some peaceful place
accommodation is very cheap this time of the year
for transport if you can ride a bike its rs 250 a day on rent
otherwise we can get a full car for rs 1200 a day
and now the important part i plan to visit ancient temples and caves basically a quiet spiritual journey
what are you looking for

Hi bks, in theory it sounds nice, but some things make it inconvenient for my purposes... for example I was hoping to meet people travelling with their own car already; if you do not have one and we would need to rent one for Rs 1200 per day, then suddenly the trip becomes a lot more expensive, etc...

Am headed SOLO to Uttarakashi (Garhwal - Uttarakhand) on the morning of 21st or 22nd (more probable) this month. Let me know if you want to come along on nittsmehta@gmail.com; I will be traveling in my own car and will be staying in Uttarakashi for sometime.

Hi Nitin, thanks for the reply, but I'm close to finalizing alternate travel plans for the next few weeks...

PS, to everyone: I'll still maybe be up for a roadtrip for a few weeks starting mid to late November, so I guess you can let me know if you've got something planned then... thanks!
