Smile Any babyboomer travel companions?

I may be in India (starting in Dehli) from early Dec 04 to early Jan 05. Reading all the travel companions threads, it seems difficult to assess the ages of potential travel companions. It's not that I'm hung up on age but those that do state their ages seem to be a good 20 years younger than me. Now while i think I getting younger every day and have many friends of all generations, being in my 50's I'm really not into partying much anymore and while I do backpack when I travel, i do it at a somewhat slower pace than when i was in my 20's.

Are there any old hippies/turned professional for the last 25 years that might be interested in authentic and safe travel to the must see sights? I'm pretty left of centre politically, dont smoke, follow a spritual path, love to scuba dive and snorkle and am not into taking dope. I dont mind budget accomdation and travel but also enjoy the occasional palace hotel...anybody out there?

Hi Gaye,
same problem here. I am 43 and in just over a week will be off for my first trip to India. Would love to meet someone, even just for a few days. However I will be in south of India (Mumbai, GOa and hopefully Hampi for New Year), so if you're down there let me know and maybe we'll meet up.

travel companion

Hi Gaye,

Sounds like we could made great travel companions, like all the same things, or don't! I will turn 55 next week. Love to snorkel. I am planning my first trip around Jan 11 to india for around 11 days. That may be to late for you.

Since I work for the airlines, maybe we could hook up for another trip sometime. Let me know!

Hi Gaye, our paths probably won't cross...but wanted to say Hi to a fellow baby boomer! I'll be leaving for Bangkok on Sunday the 19th, staying there for a few days, then on to Chennai, Madurai, and Mumbai.
I'm kind of indulging myself this trip and actually spending New Years at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai. Fairly classy bit of excess for a public school art teacher, but what the heck. Planning on hanging out with friends and sightseeing of course in the above towns, but let me know if you're passing through any of them!

Same here, Gaye! I'm a 50-year old freelancer. I can't meet you this time because I'm planning to go to South India probably in the middle to end of Feburary. But perhaps next season? Have a wonderful time in India!

India's still popular with the generation that put it on the travel map! You'll meet many of us, although if we're still alive, we prolly don't do what we did then

Actually some of us, perhaps 15 years younger than you, have the same travel habits - not everyone goes through the party, fast-pace phase. I'll be in the south though, and traveling after Jan 10. Good luck - interesting people are everywhere and you'll probably meet up with them during your trip even if you don't plan it in advance.
