Annapurna base camp in late december
Hello everyone
I am Madhav from Hyderabad. My self and a guy from Kolkata are planning to go on a trek to the Annapurna base camp in late December 09, want to start preferably on 24th-25dec 2009, it will be an 8 day trek. Expenses excluding the travel costs to Nepal would amount to 4,000 rs - 5000rs approx. This includes charges for permits, stay, food and other misc expenses. Charges could vary slightly. If the number of people increases the overall cost excluding the travel cost to Nepal could be brought down. If anyone is interested please reply in this thread. |

Hi there - I will be in India/Nepal Dec 20-Jan 10 and was looking to go trekking in Nepal. I'm a 27 year old guy from New York City, and my parents are from India (West Bengal).
Few questions - Are you planning on trekking the entire time or stopping through some cities? - What does your complete itinerary look like? When do you leave, which cities do you plan to go through, when do you expect to be back? - What kind of gear do you think I'd need? My name is Deepesh Banerji -- feel free to look my up on facebook and add me as a friend and we can chat more? I'm definitely interested. |

To deepesh
hey Deepesh, i am still gathering information about the trek to Annapurna base camp in . Not sure if the route will be accessible during late winter(After Dec24th). And moreover i am a first timer to trekking, so people here have also advised me to think about cold tolerance, damn cold in December in the mountains. So I am considering that as well. I am planning to start the trek on 24, 25, Dec, sometime close to these dates( only after 24th Dec). A guy from Kolkata suggested the trip, he has been to Nepal but not on a trekking route. He says the trip to the Annapurna Base camp will involve 7-8 trekking days, there are many villages enroute he says and yeah, visiting cities sounds good, I am up for anything actually and i have no issues with the no of days, I am totally free, and regarding the gear, hmmm,I have no idea, but I am sure people on India mike can help us once we have finalized the route and the no of days we will be spending there. Finally there is a budgetary constraint as well, I am looking looking at ultra cheap accomodation, just the basic facilities would do for me, so think about it, I am ok with any modifications of the itenary, so what do u say?
