3 weeks in Nov Dec

Hello friends
I intend to be in Delhi about mid November then to do the golden triangle and Rajasthan. Anyone else out there thinking of the same? I'm a mature traveller that doesnt mind backpacking but likes a bit of comfort and safety - better to go slow than knock myself out in only 3 weeks. I considered the tour thing but booking from Australia is sooo expensive! I know I can do it for cheaper although felexibility and spontianity are my main motivators. As this is my first trip to India I'll proberbly do a small tour in the first week to get the lay of the land then head out into the big wild world. I dont smoke or do drugs. - cheers
