<b>Delhi is the third worst city of the world</b>

New Delhi is the third worst city to live in, according to a "hardship rating" published by the <a href="http://www.eiu.com/" target="_blank">Economist Intelligence Unit</a>, a sister organization of the Economist.

The worst of the lot is Fort Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea, followed by Karachi. Then comes New Delhi.

The hardship index is based on three categories: Health and safety, culture and environment, and infrastructure.

A rating over 20 per cent indicates hardship, over 65 per cent indicates extreme hardship.

While Port Moresby has posted 80 per cent, Karachi is pegged at over 70 per cent. New Delhi registers more than 55 per cent.

The cities with a ranking of over 40 per cent (hardship rating) are Mexico and Bangkok. Cities that boast above 20 per cent are Johannesburg, Sao Paulo, Moscow, Shanghai, Buenos Aires, Santiago and Seoul.

Under 20 per cent are Budapest, New York, Hong Kong, London, Paris, Boston, Tokyo and Frankfurt.

Perth, Melbourne and Vancouver are the top cities.

If Vancouver is at the top of the list, they obviously didn't factor in the risks of being run over by bad drivers or bored to death.
