It seems that the key players are beginning to reorganise the world. Tree elements speak for that theory.

1- George Bush and Tony Blair both said that the time has come for the creation of a Palestinian state. It seems that in the light of the recent events The USA understood the need to settle that problem once and forever, recognising that it is a neuralgic point which in final analysis led to the attack on the WTC and the Pentagon.
The words of the chief of British diplomacy Jack Straw about the Israeli attitude towards the Palestinians creating a fertile ground for terrorism were the sign of a new direction of the Americano British efforts to solve the ME situation.
This new orientation came as a shock for the Sharon government but it is clear that the USA realised that if it wants to have Arab and Muslim members of the anti terrorist coalition, it must change it's policy towards Israel.

2- Russia is again in the game and has been repositioned as an ally. This suggests a direction in which the northern hemisfere will be much more integrated politically and in matters of security.

3- The battle against poverty. It has been realised that poverty is the most fertile ground for the proliferation of terrorism, so it is not a surprise when Tony Blair said at his party convention that the battle against terrorism will be a battle for a new world order which will have the respect of human dignity and the establishment of social justice as it's basis, from Gaza to Afganistan.

After the primal temptations of isolation by the Americans, could it be that this tragedy will lead to the beginning of a responsible and integrated policy by the world powers?
I certainly hope so.
