Chandigarh, September 7
Two visitors from Italy would have lost some rare and precious Ladakhi paintings but for the timely intervention and help by the Supervisor of Shatabdi Express.

The Italians - Mr Bonfranti Palo and Ms Perego Fiorenza -- had left behind the paintings they had procured in Ladakh in the Shimla-Kalka train before catching the Kalka-New Delhi Shatabdi Express for New Delhi yesterday.

If they really were "rare and precious" Ladakhi paintings, I wonder if anyone thought to prosecute the Italians for illegal trafficking of antiquities?
