Here are some of the fixed taxes that your ticket from New York Area airports to Delhi. includes in the final fare.

In this case you are connecting through London's Heathrow airport.

Tax: US International Departure Tax $16.10
Tax: US September 11th Security Fee $2.50
Tax: US Passenger Facility Charge $4.50
Tax: USDA APHIS Fee $5.00
Tax: US Immigration Fee $7.00
Tax: US Customs Fee $5.50
Tax: US International Arrival Tax $16.10

Tax: United Kingdom Passenger Service Charge £42.40

Tax: Indian Passenger Service Fee $5.70
Tax: Indian User Development Fee INR 1300

and this if you are connecting at Doha

Tax: US International Departure Tax $16.10
Tax: US September 11th Security Fee $2.50

Tax: LX YR surcharge $320.00

And for those who wanna go via Germany

Tax: LH YQ surcharge $280.00

and via BRU(Brussels)

Tax: Belgium Passenger Service and Security Charge €32.32
Tax: 9W YQ surcharge $320.00

If you fly non-stop on AI (AirIndia) then AirIndia will add a surcharge of USD320. While CO (Continental) does not.

LHR charges hunk-o-change and it's a terrible place to transit. So is CDG, and yet no-one factors in stress-hassle overheads. Do people care ? mostly not .... hence my quip - ke farak painda hai

Whatever the fare between Delhi Katmandu Delhi: The two Govts. Indian & Nepali as of today take the following chunk of from your ticket.

Indian Passenger Service Fee (WO) $5.70
Indian User Development Fee (IN) $26.60

Nepal Passenger Service Charge (NP) $10.10
Nepal Tourism Service Fee (NQ) $7.20

So if your ticket costs X then deduct the 49.60USD to compute the fare the airline(s) charge.

BA to charge for seat selection
