Rohtang Pass Opens after Woman delivers Baby there...!!!

The Times of India reported today that a Nepalese lady, trudging along with her Husband over the Rohtang Pass, went into labour, and delivered her baby right there.

Apparently, the lady and her husband, both labourers from Nepal, were walking as the Rohtang La was not yet officially open to any kind of traffic. They were crossing the Rohtang Pass in order to look for some work for the husband, somewhere in the Lahaul Valley possibly.

Luckily, the Rohtang Pass was thrown open to Light traffic just a few hours after the lady delivered her baby.

They were helped by the guards posted at the Security post on the other side of the Pass. The lady was accommodated in the Security's person's tiny shed so that she could rest for a while. Thankfully, both she and the baby are doing fine.

This can only happen in India...!!!

Cheers to the Baby and the Lady who delivered "Right on Top"...!

Would sure love to know if there have been any occasions of women delivering at that altitude (Rohtang La is at 13050 feet) or above...!!!

Is this a World record or what...???
