Thumbs up Pushkar : The Jewel of Rajasthan

Rajasthan has long been known for its festivals and fairs, filling the arid land with colour and smiling faces.
Of all the fairs, it is Pushkar that stands out as the most popular and colourful. Held in the Ajmer area of the Thar desert, it begins on Kartik Shukla Ekadashi (light fortnight) and goes on for five days until Kartik Purnima (full moon). Held every year between October and November, Pushkar attracts thousands of tourists and Hindu devotees who throng to the huge cattle fair.

It ended recently, but, for those who couldn't make it, we've got pictures.
