Promoting Beatles and Rishikesh

Promoting Beatles and Rishikesh

Raju Gusain
Dehra Dun, December 13

Emmy Award winner producer-director Paul Saltzman is promoting a holy town of Uttaranchal worldwide by conducting photographic exhibitions of the Beatles tour to Rishikesh. He has so far hosted such shows in cities like Toronto, New York, Chicago, Liverpool, London, Brighton, Bristol, Glasgow and Paris.
Paul’s latest exhibition on the historic 1968 tour of Beatles to Mahesh Yogi Ashram (Rishikesh) is starting in Milan (Italy) from 14 December.
Paul Saltzman is a Canada based filmmaker and he stayed with the Beatles in Rishikesh. He took some 72 exclusive photograph of the famous band during their stay. On the shows he says, “ It is like sharing the joys of John, Paul, George & Ringo’s music with their fans.”
The Beatles came to Rishikesh in 1968 to learn meditation. Among the Beatles, Ringo stayed at the Maharishi's Ashram for 10 days, Paul for 5 weeks, John and George, for 8 weeks, each.
Paul's website 'www.TheBeatlesInIndia.com' and book 'The Beatles in Rishikesh' presents a photographic tribute to the visit of the famous band to Rishikesh.
When asked, about the response of the photo show, Paul says, “The response is wonderful! The Beatles lovers visit the exhibition. They walk around the room and smile. What I believe is the intimacy of these pictures and the impact of the ‘Fab Four’ had on their lives.”
Paul Saltzman is a two-time Emmy Award-winning producer-director and the President of Sunrise Films Limited.
