A species of monkey unknown to science has been photographed in India by an international team of researchers.
The monkey, a member of the macaque family, was sighted in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, which lies in the country's remote north-eastern region.
Named the Arunachal macaque, the new monkey is a comparatively large brown primate with a relatively short tail.
The scientists say they are surprised to have found a hitherto unknown large mammal in such a populous country.

Thats some nice information. Thanks
It is hard to beleive I went to the BBC site and still can not beleive it.Do you think that the reason for there survival is do to the altitude that would not be able to support a large population?I thought that Arunachal Pradesh even had only a small forest area and was mostly above the tree line.
wow Just goes to show how much we have right here in India. ARe they sure the chinese dont know about the monkey. We dont want them to suddenly come up with "oh we have seen that thing around for years". Ha!
