kerala plans a submarine for Tourist

Kerala plans a Submarine to woo tourist and expect to generate a lot of money
"Annual net pre-tax revenue from this operation is in excess of $7 million. The profits are based on a 10 to 12 dive per day schedule, 330 operating days per year, a 90 per cent passenger load factor and a ticket price of $95"

I spent two hours on a train just outside Trivandrum station once, due to Industrial Action. Couldn't jump down and walk like many others die to having lots of luggage.

Not sure I'd want to go in a submarine there!

10-12 per day means what, 40 minutes on the sub at most? how much of that is getting out of harbour and diving, plus surfacing?

Another half-baked get rich quick scheme along with so may other govt. tourist projects- the "ski resort" at Auli comes to mind . . . It'll end up "soaking" the taxpayers . . .

What is there to see around there? I would have thought that if there were nice reefs or wrecks there would already be scuba companies operating, and I don't think I even saw a snorkeler..?

your point is very correct, we never seen any satisfied snorkeler there.
but submarines can go deep and have a look at the other marine forms , i think corals are not so deep for submarines, and there is a lot of fishing in this area so there may be a lot of fish, the funniest thing is loccal meaning or the sense for 'Submarine' is big undercoverd corruption,

the only problem is the worry of the striking political parties , normally they can sto every thing duringthe strikes by blocking the roads or by throwing stones , but what they willdo to stop this Submarine during there 'national wide Harthal '(strike)

Most species of corals live in the first 15 metres from the surface. Corals require a fair amount of light to grow, so unless the water there is exceptionally clear like the Red Sea then they will not thrive. Some species will survive in lower light levels, but not many.

Well they can always jump into the water and try to "stop" the submarine AND then DROWN !! At least this way we will get rid of a few muppet politicians!! We need a eradication programme for these corrupt politicians who cant see beyond their own benefits so maybe this is indeed a cunning plan to do so.
