great story and so true! many times I just put my hands over my eyes and said "I can't look...." other times I just reached over and blew the horn myself!

It really is one of the Big New Experiences of India, an auto ride in any amount of trafic. The people who book cars for everything are missing out badly.

I've never thought of reaching for the horn myself! Good idea... or is it? Maybe it will have little effect but will make me feel a little more secure. "Passengers to be provided with own horns" - I can see this headline in an Indian newspaper soon (perhaps).

It'd earn an invitation to find alternative transport, if anyone did it in my car.

Anyway, distracting the driver even further is not a good idea.

Something to remember in an auto is that the driver's done it lots of times before.
