Germany allows its citizens to resume travel to India

Germany has joined the ranks of USA and the UK in revising the official travel advisory in which it had asked its citizens not to undertake journeys to India because of tension in the subcontinent. But even now the sensitive border regions between India and Pakistan have been termed as a no-go areas.

A German embassy statement here said on Friday that "after the reduction of tensions between Indian and Pakistan, the German Foreign Ministry currently does not see any reason to generally advise against travel to India."

The restrictions were imposed by the USA, Britain and many European nations last month at the height of Indo-Pak crisis. The threat of war was removed after Islamabad, following international pressure, pledged to to halt infiltration into Jammu and Kashmir.
