Four blasts in New Delhi

NEW DELHI, India (CNN) -- Four explosions in the Indian capital, New Delhi, have killed at least 10 people, local media reports said.
CNN's Ram Ramgopal said all four explosions came in crowded markets as many people were shopping to prepare for Diwali, India's biggest festival.
At least 40 people were injured and were hospitalized after the first explosion Saturday in the crowded Pahar Ganj neighborhood of the Indian capital, New Delhi Television said.
Local media reports said many more casualties were feared.

im speechless... why do people carry out such acts against innocent people, it achieves NOTHING ... they are simply bastards

just heard the news from my girlfriend in delhi.... these people who carry out these acts are so ignorant and inhumane... killing innocent tourists and delhiites achieves NOTHING... it helps no cause... its very sad. when i was in pahaganj last week i never imagined this kind of thing happening... we shouldnt let this kind of attack deter us from travelling anywhere in india, even to delhi

The quake in Kashmir, floods in Andhra, and the blasts in Delhi.
Diwali this year isn't full of fun.

Hope all IMrs (or even otherwise) in Delhi are fine.

Unhappy

Hope all the Delhi IM crew are OK.

God, I was right there a couple of weeks ago. I just missed the Kashmir earthquake and now I've just missed this.

I'm counting my blessings.

???

doesnt matter who did, they are simply psychopaths and not representitive of any group or religon. We live in a secular country here in India. I work alongside muslims, hindus, sikhs, christians, all of who are friends.
these murderers who commited the act are simply insane and cannot achieve anything in this manner

The world is full of tragic events (earthquakes, train derailments, floods etc.)
Why do humans add their hatred to the mix??

These events serve to remind me that life is short and precious and living each moment to the fullest is so important.

People are brainwashed from all sides - that's why. It's not because they're evil per se.

Reports from Paharganj say all roads to the blast site have been sealed.

The blast took place in an area close to the main railway station in Paharganj, which is frequented by Western budget travellers.

bomb blaast

Blasts have taken place at 5 reported places. One bomb has been diffused at Chandni Chowk. My God at the height of shoping spree & the crowd at this place I shudder to think what it would have been. I hope & pray no IMer's are injured in the Pahar gunge blast. Let Us take an united stand against this outrage.
Regards.

6 pm when I arrived in Paharganj. some minutes ago a bomb blasted in a shop, about 100 m away from the hotel I stay. Street info said that 25 people were killed and some others injured. Also street info said that no tourists were killed or injured. The streets were not quite secured , as soon as I was able to approach about 15 m to the blast zone.
