Maybe this doesn't attract the focus of IMers, not much response, but this has been a very nasty one.

I missed yesterday's newspapers, but the last thing I was seeing was 62 dead and, of course, many more injured.

At least 77 it says on Wikipedia. Everytime India is in the news here in Sydney, it's always has to do with either terrorism or cricket. It's a damn shame.

Yet again, I wonder if the aim was to provoke communal tension between the locals and the Bangladeshi immigrants, tensions have been running high for years in Assam.

I am so sorry to hear of this.....how much tension has there been in Assam recently? Does the northeast find itself "disrupted" rather often?
