Delhi to Lahore bus service to resume

The Delhi to Lahore bus service will resume on July 11 after it was suspended on December 31, 2001 after the attack on Parliament.

Two thirty four seat buses will ply the route between Delhi and Lahore with stops at Pipli, Sirhand, Kartarpur, and Wagah for a border check.

Each passenger must provide a passport and a visa upon departure.

Buses from India will ply on Tuesdays and Fridays and from Pakistan, Wednesday and Saturday. Buses leave at 6am and cost Rs. 800 from the India side.

Hopefully the two buses don't wind up in

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I have also heard that this service will also be running from Ajmer to Lahore as well as Delhi to Lahore.

Anyone else have any news on this?

It's hard to believe there'd be enough traffic from Ajmer to Lahore.

Wouldn't hurt me to do a Google search--

Ajmer is not popular with foreign tourists except for passing through to Pushkar but it is one of the most sacred of all Muslim places of pilgrimage in India.

Yes, the Sufi shrine in Ajmer is quite wonderful.

Mmmmm, I see it's for Pakistani pilgrims to pay their regards to the saint at an annual event/festival/something.
