Delhi flooding?

I'm flying into Delhi in a couple of weeks for a (hopefully) 6 months stay in India. I just heard a few minutes ago on the radio that Delhi stands in risk of having a flooding. Didn't hear that much, but I tried googling various combinations of "Delhi" and "flooding" without getting any proper info.

Anyone here know anything?

And a second question:
How hard is it "winging it" in regards to hotels and trains in Northern India (Haryana, Rajastan, Uttar Pradesh and upwards) in October-November-December?

Answers highly appreciated,
Gregor.

We've had trouble with this before, so to be clear for other users, "winging it" means not booking ahead.

Not heard of any flooding that would affect tourism in Delhi or hit the international news, could you have heard a report from Delhi about flooding in Bihar? Or maybe a report about increased cholera incidence after recent floods?

As for winging it, the Rajasthan in October - to book or not to book thread may be a good starting place.

Unless you're planning to spend alot of time down by the river - you'll be fine (the rest of delhi is pretty dry). Local reports last week said the river was continuing to rise - up until mid week when it started receding.
