Bird flu outbreak in parts of West Bengal
Over the last two days, reports have been coming out in the Indian media about a Bird Flu outbreak in West Bengal. The Central government has blamed the WB State Govt. for tardiness in reporting and tackling the outbreak.

Just back from my first visit to India, and spent a week in West Bengal.
With the exception of one area which was being policed to prevent movement of poultry, the rest of WB was declared free of bird flu around Feb 11/12 and things were more or less normal. |
