This is an interesting paragraph:

Quote:
Chadha spent time Sunday filming joggers and murals around Lake Merritt for background scenes for "Spices," which is to hit theaters next year. "It's kind of like an ode to the Bay Area," Rai said of the movie; her husband, Paul Mayeda Berges, is director.
How many young men will have a heart attack reading that last line? In actuality, Berges is Gurinder Chadha's husband, not Aishwarya Rai's. Amazing the poor writing that makes it into major newspapers...

My heart skips a beat just looking at the photo from the article. I live about 90minutes driving distance from Oakland California. I could have seen Ash yesterday I'm considering packing up work today just to go catch a peek

Too far for me. Will have to make do with the Devdas DVD I bought in Chennai last week.

Aaarrrgh! I was actually IN downtown Oakland yesterday, about half a mile from where they were filming! If I'd known, I would have gone by to check it out!

And that turquoise sari picture is about the most unflattering shot I've seen of her in awhile; An obviously unprepared and fatigued Ash in a break during the filming.

One reason writers get so much stuff wrong over here is that most of them have no background in things South Asian. To most, She's just this week's new thing, whereas every male between 1-1008 years old knows Ash hasn't given me an answer yet. It's ok, I'm acting "as if. . . . "
