I'm subscribed to a "major news" mailing list in the USA. This encompasses about forty US newspapers. The article was in one of the threads that came with a mailing about a weeks ago. Sorry, I don't keep these mailings after I've read what I want so I don't recall which US paper it was in (normally I just read the threads). I do remember it saying you had plans to return to help in the search and just to "be there, where Ryan was, ......" That's it!

Latest News. We are having the calls from Ramnagar checked out. While we believe it may be a hoax as the caller could not provide simple proof that he had Ryan we are not going to leave any stone unturned to get Ryan back. Will let you know further as information comes to hand.

The Advertiser newspaper in Adelaide, a subsidiary of News Corp has agreed to ask Star TV in India, another News Corp subsidiary, to feature Ryan's pic and reward on thir station. We believe that continuous coverage rather than just a short, one day news article will provide some result. May confirm the power of TV!

Coca Cola

Dear IMers,
We have today contacted Coca Cola India requesting them to include Ryan's poster in all crates of their product sold into Northern India. The internet is great and so is the Coca Cola distribution system. I saw "Coke" being sold in the most remote places and thousands of feet up mountains outside Rishikesh. Can you all please help by also contacting the company at the link below and support our request. This would be much appreciated. The power of numbers is so important so if you can also ask all your friends to do the same!

Perhaps message along these lines- (cut and paste)

"Ryan Chambers- This Australian backpacker (21 years) has been missing from Rishikesh since 24 August 2005. To assist his family to find him, can you please include a poster in every crate of product sold by Coca Cola into Northern India. I know how good your distribution system is and the poster would reach the most remote areas. This would be much appreciated.
Poster can be accessed at http://panipuri.net/diverses/missing For more information contact Ryan's parents on +61-419725818 or chambers7@bigpond.com "

AND NOW FOR PEPSI........!

Love

Jock and Di

Great idea guys. Just a thought for you. You may want to put a little bit of a write up on this forum that people can copy and paste in the Comments/Suggestions/Enquiries section of that form. We need to make it as easy as possible for people to submit that form. And it's a lot easier for them to copy and past an already written piece of text that says exactly what you want it to than for them to take the time to think of something themselves.

Possibly also put a URL in that piece of text to an image of the missing poster so that whoever reads it can see that we are for real.

Cheers,
Aaron

Hi

I'm Karen, a friend of Jarrad's. Have been thinking of you all at this terrible time. The Coca-Cola idea is fantastic and I have emailed them myself and also sent an email to friends of mine getting them to do the same.

Stay positive and look after each other and hopefully he will be found safe and well

Love Karen

I have Just mailed Coke, and will be putting up posters when I go to India
in two weeks time - if against hope Ryan is not home safe and sound before then.

is there an English version of the poster ? ( for the benefit of non-IM backpackers)

Do we transmit it into outer space and pollute that too? Think about it.

Hi Jock, Di, Aaron and Jarrad,

I am a friend of Ryan's from school, and I received sporadic emails from Ryan up until his disappearance, telling of his travels and experiences. He sounded like he was having a truly amazing time, and I am very positive that he will return home safely.

I think petitioning coca-cola to raise awareness is a great idea, and I have been spreading the word via email to many friends and family. There is certainly a strong following for Ryan's safe return here at Trinity College at the University of Melbourne, and if there is anything else I can do please just say the word.

Love Rachel
