Hang on in their guys!!!!

Jock, Di, Aaron and Jarrad

Your family unit is like a jigsaw puzzle made up of individual pieces.
The completed picture, has always been one of motivation and inspiration.
Although one of the pieces has been misplaced, Ryan will be found.
When he returns his piece may be a little frayed around the edges from his ordeal but the piece will still fit and your family unit will be complete.
If only you could be spared from this pain and anguish of waiting.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all

To Jock, Di, Aaron and Jarrad,

This site is just amazing. To think that there are so many people, many that don't even know your wonderful family are willing to help in so many ways.

It doesn't seem that long ago that Jarrad and Brooke and Ryan and Katrina were all starting their school years together. How quickly time has swept by and now as adults they face the outside world.

It was lovely to see so many messages from many of the old St Pauls and Tenison students and teachers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and we hope that Ryan will be found safely very soon.

Not yet Steven, but search continuing. Had calls last night from Ramnagar area, but in absence of proof requested, think it may be a hoax. Waiting for more info from Consular Officer. Are there any IMers in the Ramnagar area? Would be great to get some posters up there.

I understand that either Jock or Di are going back to india to stay for a prolonged period of time in an attempt to trace him themselves. This is a great idea!

Hi Manreet, Have your friends been searching in the area over the Rishikesh Barrage Colony? There are two ways- left towards Haridwar and right to Rishikesh city itself. Posters are available at this link from Dani.

Hi Jock,

I'm really sorry that there has been no positive news to this point and can only imagine how difficult this is for you and your family. It is indeed heartening to see the support from your community and our little circle of travellers; many of us have spent a lot of time in India and have gone through many different experiences ourselves as well as seen the effect of emersion in a new cultural experience has had on others. Sometimes it is inexplicable.

In slightly earlier times, before the internet and the popularity of cell-phones, it was fairly common for a traveller to be 'out of touch' with family for weeks or months at a time as communication was by post and receiving mail required using pre-determined locations and was unreliable in that plans often changed. It was probably easier to disappear for a while on a spiritual quest or whatever without alarming loved ones. I'm still optomistic that Ryan's last comments reflect a sort of naive assurance that he felt his actions would be understood and accepted without causing the inevitable result that they have. I know that you haven't given up hope and I encourage you to hang on to your optimism.

I am in Canada now, but expect to be in Rishikesh by October 23 or so and would be willing to follow up any contacts that you made on your last trip or anything else that you feel might be of some use. Please feel free to send a private message.

And greetings to all of our visitors from Mt Gambier. What a community!!!

m2,

Thankyou so much for your post and your support. As has been said before, the support this thread has shown has absolutely blown us away. The fact that absolutely random strangers from all around care about the situation at hand and are able to show the support they do is a great boost for us during this time.

We fully apprecitate the thought you send our way and anything you think you can do when over in India. As you will see in posts before this, we have posters available for download and sincerely appreciate it if you could print some out and put them up whereever you go in India.

Again, thankyou for taking the time to express your thoughts and support. It does mean a lot to us and this site has played a huge part in keeping our spirits up over the last 5 or so weeks.

I truly hope we can sit down, one day in the future, with Ryan and the friends we have made here and have a drink and a chat about this whole insane story.

Regards,
Aaron

Hi there,

As I said in the above post, thankyou for your support and willingness to help. It means a lot to us that complete strangers, like yourself, have the heart to go out of their way and help us during this time.

As you will see in previous posts, there are posters availble online and it would be great if you had a chance to print some out and put them up where ever you go in India.

Thankyou again.

Aaron
