is there a similarity in the tube train bombing in london and the local train bombings in mumbai ?
i dont know how can any1 have such a sick mentality man it was chaos i was across the tracks safely tucked in my car although but the timing was such that it was full of working/earning members of families and there was no managment system in place to handle something at this scale if not for mumbaites it was nt pssible for just the oficial authority to take care of the matter god give strength to all the families who lost their loved 1s !!!!!!!!!! 1 thing amazed me although all mobile phone networks were jammed internet on the very same network was absolutely unaffected from my phone i emailed my safety to my family and the local radio stations did an amazing job by airing the whereabouts of travellers 0n the trains becoz signals were jammed at the affected areas mostly can any techie put light to the cell phone signals jamming ??? |

Yes somewhat similar to the London bombings in Jul 2005, in that the explosions were coordinated and highly organised, on public transport and at rush hour. But I would liken this incident more to the Madrid train bombings of Mar 2004. A series of explosions on the commuter train system led to the death of 192 people and over 2,000 were injured. Initially a separatist group called ETA were suspected as the perpetrators... but in the days following the bombings a group affiliated with Al-Qaeda claimed responsibility. Londoners are quite shaken by the Mumbai bombings and it's the headline on every paper and news channel this morning. It has hit us close to home. |

Cellphones usually get jammed due to sudden bursts of telephonic activity as they are not usually used to such heavy traffic and hence can only take a certain amount of calls per minute or whatever but when it goes beyond that number then it seems as if they are not working and just jammed.

Mumbai has always been very quick to get back on it's feet and this is what has happened today too. Just the right spirit to keep going on endlessly and everforward. May peace prevail always.

i was more than shocked when i learned what had happened just when i took off from delhi.... by the time i landed in mumbai at around 8:30 i was taken aback by the commotion at the airport...it was fussssssss....initially i thot its because of the rains that the roads and all are closed and taxis running at exhorbitant rates....then i learned from the taxi driver i finally took to Chembut what happened at the stations...it was so depressing and distrubing.....and to top on this agitating news i got from the driver....i finally ended up sending that bugger to jail for atleast one night....he really pissed me off so i took charge and beat him and took him to the police at Trombay....heck!! was just an awful night for me.... will write more on that taxi matter in another thread....
movingf around in the taxi i did see for the first time BEST buses been taken by the roof...and ppl hanging the back of the bus as well... the express way was a complte jam! then after dealing with the police and that bloody taxi driver i reached home at 1:00AM to get the actual picture on the TV... heard how ppl were helping out the suffering fellas...yea that's the spitit of Mumbai! its also evident by the rate at which around 2500 blood bottles required were collected...just in a couple of hours all the donors had turned up and most of the requirement was met...victims still being helped!!! thats is what makes me so attached to Mumbai!!! it always is in High Spirits...no matter what! peace!!! Amyl

The first blast took place at 6.24 pm. N I was one station away at that time !!!! I was scared to death when I heard about the blasts!!
It is really really sad that such things are happening here! Oh and BTW the death toll has gone upto 190. And about 500 injured. |

Fathom this: Within 3 hours of the blasts, long queues of blood donating volunteers were seen outside various hospital, where most of the injured were admitted. By 12 midnight, the hospital had to issue a notification that blood banks were full and they didn't require any more blood. The next day, attendance at schools and office was close to 100%, trains & buses were packed to the brim, the crowds were back.
Thats great to see many people coming forward to help the victims. |
