Hey guys I will be reaching Leh in second week of april. Is it a good time to travel to Zanskar & will roads be open. At this time of year is it possible to trek from leh to Zanskar one way in ten days time.

At that time they probaby have cleared the road over the Rothang, and are working their way to Leh. Food will be scarce until and a while after it´s cleared.There will be snow high up , worse, it will start to melt lower down.

There is likely to be a lot of snow on Pensi La, and no traffic.

Depends largely on how much snow has fallen on Ganda La, Ruberung La and Sarchar La. The route is known as the Zumlung trek, and has a reputation for fast and difficult fords, so it should preferably be done in early spring or in autumn. It is the only direct route on which you can get through with beasts of burden. You can probably make it in ten days but once in Padum you may have to hike another three days across Pensi La to Panikhar.
