Where to go in July-August?

Hello,

We are planning a family tour between July-August from Mumbai.
Expecting 4-6 adults and 4 kids, if nobody joins at lest 2 adults+2 kids.
Duration 6-10 days. Wants to cover most of the places with train.

Which is the best place to go?
Our options are:

1) Delhi-Agra-Jaipur
2) Uttrakand/Uttranchal
3) Shimla-Manali
4) Coimbatore-Ooty-Coonoor

Your valuable suggestions please.

In Jul-Aug, I would recommend the Hills... Uttrakhand would be the best of the lot, but not all places here will be accessible by Train.

You can probably choose Shimla-Manali...

Mumbai-Delhi (train)
Delhi-Kalka-Shimla (train-Hill train)
Shimla-Manali (bus/taxi)
Manali-Joginder nagar (bus/taxi)
Joginder Nagar-Pathankot (hill train)
Pathankot-Mumbai (train)

The monsoon may interfere with your plans a bit though

I would prefer Simla-Manali trip.

After Manali, I am curious to go to Amritsar, so as to see golden temple and wagha border.

Any suggestions to cover the places in between Manali and Amritsar.

Maybe I can hire a private car from Simla/Manali to Amritsar, so that I can cover the places nicely. Then to take a train from Amritsar-Mumbai.

Is this comfortable?

Is Indica confortable in this trip for 2 adult 2 kids?

How many persons can sit in a Qualis for this trip?

How much it would cost for private car (Qualis/Indica) from Simla/Manali to Amritsar?

How many days do I need to cover these places?

Your timeframe of 6-10 days will not be enough to cover Shimla-Manali and then all the places till Amritsar and then Amritsar...

We travellers from dubai dont have any other option than jul-aug. below is what i would suggest as i took this trip last summer.
1. mum-delhi take agast kranit. (not sure if it starts from delhi as i took from vadodara)
2. delhi kalka shatabdi next day 8:00 am
3. kalka shimla toy train. will reach shimla by evening
4. In shimla hire an indica/alto. stay 2-3 days
5. from shimla to manali take alto.indica via kullu or manikaran. stay 3 days
6. from manali to delhi take volvo. starts at 3:30 and reaches delhi by 7:00. If u plan amritsar, plan it accoridngly.

I booked all the rail tickets online.
In shimla it might rain but its ok, still its beautiful. spend the evening at mall road.

Yes, 6-10 days would be too less for these 3 main destinations... unless you can reach most of these by a Flight, which would be exspensive but save you a lot fo time...

Finally, if 10 days are not enough, how many days I need for this trip?

It depends on how many places you want to go apart from Manali-Shimla...

You'll need another 3/4 days to fit in Amritsar and other excursions in HP (like Dharamshala, Palampur, Jwalamukhi etc)
