Question where to and how long on

Once I get to India , where to really go to? How long can I last on 4 grand Canadian. if all you want is a safe room to sleep in. Filling but interesting food. 3 cups of coffee a day and a 6 pack of beer on the weekend what is reasonable to think of living on.
I m might even get a 450 buck pension by the time I want to go. Could a man live ok on that if It turns out like it there.
I really don't want to live lavishly. I would even live in something like room and board place if they have them over there and the food doesn't eat my mouth out.

You can stay in Goa and stay there for about 2.5 months lavishly if 4000CAD excludes air fare.

The coffee might be expensive and not too easy to find what you're used to. Learn to love chai.

May I recommend the 6-rupee coffee Hal? (hey, the non-plastic cups are worth a splurge.)

Expensive, no; what you're used to, maybe...
If you like it milky, sweet and in tiny glasses, then you won't miss a thing.

Indian coffee is a bit like a Tim Horton's "double-double". That's a really weak coffee with double cream and double sugar from the ubiquitous donut shop named for a dead hockey player. Very popular in Canada.

When I said expensive I was thinking of Cafe Coffee Day which is as expensive as Starbucks.
