waiting lists

HELP. I have booked 2 tickets from Kharagpur to Howrah. On the ERS it says RLWL, which I take to mean I am on the waiting list. How likely is it that a space will be available and what happens if not? Do we get seats in a different class or will we not get the journey at all. I need to know that I can get to Howrah and don't mind if I have to rough it for a 2 hour trip. Any advice please?

Thanks

Tickets for what date? In what class? Did they give you a waiting list NUMBER? Something like WL5?

No way to tell if you'll get a berth with the info you've given.

Your ticket should get confirmed...

Having said that there are loads of trains....and your local contacts should be able to guide you to trains that will be relatively free. Dont hassle yourself too much.

And check out the shorter haul trains hitting kal from bhubhaneshwar and Tatanagar...They will have a ac chair car and i think should be available.

Take a look at this site for all the trains between Karaghpur and Howrah. http://erail.in?T=KGP::HWH:
Change the date in the header and click on the AV column of the desired train. There you get how many seats are available.

If you want to be sure of a seat book them and then cancel the tickets you have.

You cannot book via the erail site, just use the same site where you booked originally.
