a village in India would normally mean a population of few hundred thousand

I'm fairly sure there aren't that many people where I'm thinking of. There are only about 6 houses in the area. Having said that they had a wedding there in Feb and they must have had about a hundred people turn up*. So maybe you're right. Dammit!

*you know, just a small family gathering.

I just love Diwali. The atmosphere is good and fireworks adds the sugar coating to it! I wish I could enjoy India Diwali every year. :-(

Any experience w/ Orchha or Khajuraho during Diwali?

Anyone have any experience w/ Orchha or Khajuraho during Diwali? I will be in Orchha for day 1 and 2 of Diwali (November 7/8th) and in Khajuraho on day 5 of Diwali (Nov 11th).

Ah, just do it. If only for the dogs in festive attire ...
