Varanasi to Mumbai via Ellora

Would really appreciate any advice,

Going to India for the first time in February. I am thinking about doing the second half of my India trip by starting in Varanasi and going by train and/or car all the way to Mumbai.

Spots along the way I am interested in are Jabalpur, Kanha National Park, Mandu and Ellora caves. Maybe also Pachmarhi if time permits.

How long should this realistically take, keeping in mind I only want to hit the few spots listed above? Is it too much travel for 14-15 days? Anyone done a similar trip?

Please note this will the first trip to India for my wife and I, and we will be spending the first two weeks of our trip with a car and driver in Rajasthan.

Two weeks probably is not enough time to visit this places, nevertheless try to make your itinerary.

From Varanasi to Jabalpur you have in the morning three daily trains and another night train only(2,4,6)
1094 11,30 - 21,20
140 10,25 - 21,40
5018 11,15 - 23,45
1066 23,15 - 09,30 (2,4,6)

From Jabalpur to Indore (for Mandu and eventually Omareshwar/Maheshwar) you have a daily train
8234 21.00 - 10.35

From Mandu to Jalgaon (for Ellora and Ajanta) probably the best way is by bus/car

From Jalgaon or Aurangabad you have trains to Mumbai
