Uttarakhand or Himachal
Hi,
I was planning to visit Kinnaur in Himachal this dec. But a lot of ppl have said its not very safe, and so am changing my plans. Wanted your advice on an alternative trip in dec: Shimla and around or a trip to Nainital & Binsar or Mussorie, Chakrata and around. I understand all these places have a beauty of their own, but which would you rate as the best. Thx, Zany. |

Himachal is more tourist-friendly...
And so, I prefer Uttarakhand...! Cheers...! |

Depends -
Shimla and around - perfect stay arrangements, good tourist infra and all, being himachal! Nainital - quite organised, and gud infra here too both regions offer good scenery with organised tourist infrastructure Chakrata - is more virgin, lackng in tourist infrastructure, but if you like to go to places where few people go and there are no bazaars, malls, tourists hanging around then thats good - it offers umpteen options to go around and basic stay arrangements. if you decide for chakrata, i can suggest u the places to go around to. |

Unless your idea of a basic amenity is a Bath Tub in bathroom. Himalayan Paradise where we stayed had all the amenities.. |

@ delhiwala --- i didn't say "lacking in basic stay arrangements" - i said it has "basic stay arrangements" -not that it has to have bath tubs, hehe! There are only 2 places to stay - Himalayan Paradise and Hotel Snow View, and both offer good facilities. But we can call them basic compared to the options one gets in Shimla/Nainital - and we don't know what level of comfort ZANYGUY is looking for... just a clarification from my side!
And ofcourse, Chakrata is still lacking in tourist infra coz the army never wanted it develop into a tourist place. So they have always discouraged tourist activities. Only now, some places are being developed on the outskirts of Chakrata. |
