Udaipur to Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, ... & on to Mumbai?

My wife and I are visiting Rasasthan in October 2008. We did the local bus & train thing in India in 1982, but we're not up for that any more, looking for a little more comfort this time and would like some help with planning our trip.

Our Rasasthan itinerary starts in Mount Abu; we have 15 days after leaving Mt Abu to get to Mumbai.

From Mt Abu, we plan to visit Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer. It's then a long way from Jaisalmer to Bikaner, ... is Bikaner worth the trip? If so, is their a flight from Jaisalmer to Bikaner? If not, is there a comfortable day train? If only a night train, is there a first class sleeper, ... and how comfortable is it? (In 1982, the "first class" train from Agra to Jaipur was extremely basic, a simple 4-berth box in the corner of an otherwise empty carriage, except for the floor being packed tight with sleeping people, which made it very difficult to get to and from the awful toilet. There was no bedding, no heating, and it was quite cold in January.)

Other than Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer, where is a "must" for us to visit in Rajasthan (we spent a few days in Jaipur in 1982, so not essential for to get back there), how long should we allow in each place, and what is the most comfortable way to get between each destination, and to finish up in Mumbai.

Also, any suggestions for a must-see stops between Rajasthan and Mumbai (we will be seeing Ahmedabad on the way to Mt Abu.)

Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Cheers.

It's not that far - we drove from Jaisalmer to Shekhawati in ten hours and Bikaner was less than half way.. Shekhawati was interesting if you haven't been there. We didn't go to Bikaner.

We flew from Udaipur to Mumbai..
