Hi,
Am new to the community. It's a blessing to have such a portal. Very difficult to judge hotels basis their fancy websites. Am planning to go to Mukteshwar or Ramgarh sometime end of may, depending on the availability of rooms. Have shortlisted Welcome Heritage Taradale Cottage (Ramgarh), Resort Sequester (Peora, Mukteshwar), Bob's Cottage (Nathuakhan -Mukteshwar), Krishna Resort (Mukteshwar)in the order of preference. I cant find reviews on any of them. Krishna accomodation somehow looks dicey. Though reviews on the location are pretty good. Resort Sequester has no working number or email whatsoever. What do you suggest? |

If you're looking for something up-scale, that's different; otherwise just take the most expensive room at the KMVNs at Ramgarh or Mukteshwar, they'll still be a good deal cheaper than these fancy places. And KMVN's location at Mukteshwar is unbeatable - you'll see what I mean when you get there.
(Oh, found it - take a look at the second pic in this post by another member. This is from the PWD bungalow, but KMVN is right to the left of it across the road). Nathuakhan is down in the valley 21 km from Mukteshwar. Bet ole Bob neglected to mention that. Nice location but no snow views. Peora is also down in the valley, well at least half way, approx 15 km from Mukteshwar. No views again. Krishna is at Sargakhet, a few km from Mukteshwar, but I suppose they can be forgiven for saying they are - at least they are at the same altitude. ![]() Don't know anything about Taradale - except that they are not in Ramgarh either . Close enough though. |

Have stayed at the KMVN Ramgarh once.
Nothing great, but IMHO neither is Ramgarh ![]() Agree with DW about Mukhteshwar.

Hi,
DW, Captain Thanks for replying. I also find some basic infrastructure issues with KMVN and PWD guesthouses there. Eventhough they may have a great view. Am looking for some basic necessities -- proper rooms, hygiene, ok food. A great view would be a plus! Am bound to consider these upscale properties. Any suggestions? or Any other place you would recommend -- ahead of Mukteshwar where we can be comfortable? How far is Sargakhet from Mukteshwar? Any guessses. Quote:

Sargakhet is on the outskirts of Mukteshwar, about 5-7 km (damned if I can remember whether it's before Bhatelia or after). There is/was another place - Red Roofs? Red Cottages? Something with Red.
KMVNs are decent in general. Some are better than others, I don't know first-hand about the Mukteshwar one as I haven't stayed. |
