Travelling in India mid July

Hi everybody, I will be travelling to Nepal and India this coming summer during june-july with my nepaleese friend. Have already been to Nepal before, with same friend when I was 15 however was back then a bit young and unexperienced to really enjoy the trip as we were on our own. Turning 19 now so thought it was time to experience India as well, anyways were thinking about visit Goa, however during beginning of July what is the weather like and temperature? Where's the place to be ?

After reading some threads, maybe Goa is not the real India I want to discover, what places should one visit ?
