Travel to Haridwar - Kedarnath

Hi friends,

I am planning to travel to Haridwar and from there to Kedarnath on a total of 6 day tour during the month of July'09 (with my wife).
Looking for your kind advise/suggestions/information on the the below queries :-

01) Where to stay at Kedarnath for one day overnight stay. Name of Hotels/Lodge and rates ?

02) If advanced bookings required for staying at Hotels at Kedarnath and Gaurikund or I can get bookings after reaching at Kedarnath itself ?
Are the Tour/Hotel agents available at Haridwar for booking accomodation at Kedarnath.

03) I also have a plan to visit VASUKI Tal (lake) from Kedarnath.
Can anyone provide information about how much time it will take to visit Vasuki Tal from Kedarnath and if the pony/doli available to go upto Vasuki Tal.
Also please let me know if the journey from Kedarnath to Vasuki Tal would be lonely or there I will get good number of pilgrims on accompanying me on my way to Vasuki Tal ?

Please feel free to inform me whatever you want to inform to me about the journey/trekking etc. about Kedarnath Yatra.

Bharat Sevashram Sangha Rs 100/- per person(fooding and lodging)
Sitapur House Rs 200/- for four beded room(only lodging)

02) If advanced bookings required for staying at Hotels at Kedarnath and Gaurikund or I can get bookings after reaching at Kedarnath itself ?
I think no advance booking is needed.I can provide you the telephone no of Barat Sevashram sangha(Gourikund)

1)there are numerous lodges/hotels at kedarnath. rates starts from 300
2) no need for advance booking. go there and check the rooms/facilities then decide.
3) since you are planing to go VASUKI tal and that with your wife. there are no ponnies/doli. its a trekking route and you need tent,fooding etc.. pilgrims dont go to vasuki tal. only trekkers go. so it may be lonely journey. you may find 2-4 peoples going or coming in a day. you can go upto CHORABARI (gandhi sarovar) its 3.5 km from kedarnath
