Travel itenary for Shimla - Kaza - Manali

Hi,
I am planning to make a trip to Shimla - Kaza - Manali this October. Is it a good time going there? Also we are planning to hire a car from Shimla to Manali en-route Kaza. Any idea how much it can cost..?
My itenary goes like this:
Day 1:Shimla - Sarahan (night at Sarahan)
Day 2:Sarahan - Kalpa (night at Kalpa)
Day 3:Stay at Kalpa
Day 4:Kalpa - Kaza (night at Kaza)
Day 5:Stay at Kaza
Day 6:Kaza - Manali (Stay at Manali)
Day 7:Stay at Manali
Day 8:Manali- Delhi
How this itenary looks like?
I know its a hectic tour but this much days are there in my hand for travel.

The cost of a car is approx Rs 1600 to 2000 per day and it will depend on the type of car and your bargaining power.

I planned the same trip a couple of years ago but could not procced beyond Merling nala (After Nako) as the bridge was not open. A friend of mine went in May This year and met the same fate. You shound enquire the status of the said road at Kalpa before proceeding to Kaza.

I also feel that you should give an extra day to Visit Sangla and Chitkul after Sarahan and before proceeding to Kalpa as per your itenary.
